How to hard reset the Droid RAZR HD
The Droid RAZR HD (or RAZR MAXX HD) by Motorola was voted #12 on the list of the “Best smartphones” of 2013 by www.pocket-lint.com. However, even the most reliable smartphones will benefit from being reset from time to time. This can also come in handy in the event that you wish to sell your phone while keeping your personal information protected. Also, in the even that you would ever lose/forget your password – you can use method #2 to remove the password protection. Please be aware that resetting your device will remove all personal settings and files on your phone. Remember to back up your information before performing a reset when possible. Method #1: On your home screen, tap “Apps” Choose “Settings“ Choose “Privacy“ Choose “Factory data reset“ At this point, you may need to enter your password. Choose “Reset phone“ Choose “Erase everything“ The reset process will now begin. Do not touch any buttons until it has completed. Method #2: Please make sure that your device is turned OFF Simultaneously press and hold the Volume up and Power buttons until you reach the boot selection menu, then release Use the Volume down key to navigate to the “Recovery“ option and the Volume up key to select it On this screen, you will need to press and hold the Volume down key, press and release Volume up, and THEN release Volume down. Using the volume buttons to navigate, you will now be able to highlight “Wipe data/factory reset”. Use Power to select it. Select “Yes” if you’re sure you wish to continue. The reset process will now begin. Please do not touch any buttons until it has completed. Choose “Reboot system now“.
