How to hard reset the HTC myTouch 4G
If you own the HTC myTouch 4G, you’ll need to be aware of these two important troubleshooting methods. Method number one is great if you can still reach your settings menus without encountering any issues. This is also a simple way to permanently remove personal files from your HTC myTouch 4G in the event that you decide to sell or hand it down to someone. Method number two is best for anyone who can no longer reach their menu options because of errors. If you have forgotten or lost your password/code, you will need to use these instructions. Please understand that both of these methods will erase all personal settings and files from your phone. If you do not wish to lose anything, it’s wise to backup all of your files before beginning. Method #1: From the Home screen press your menu button. Select Settings. Choose SD & phone storage. Choose Factory data reset. Tap Reset phone. If you’re sure you wish to continue, select Erase everything. Method #2: Power off the device. Remove and reinsert the battery. Press and hold the Volume Down button, then briefly press the Power button. When the Android screen appears, release the Volume Down button. Use Volume Down to select Factory Reset. Press the Power button if you’re sure you wish to continue.
